Instructions for use and composition of Ammophos fertilizer, how to breed it

The complex fertilizer ammophos contains two elements vital for plants - phosphorus and nitrogen. The components are water-soluble and are readily available to plants. The effectiveness of the drug is associated with a high concentration of active ingredients and good physical characteristics. Ammophos is used as the main tool for additional fertilizing during the growing season.

Description of ammophos

The composition of the fertilizer was designed to provide plants with sufficient phosphate when under-consumption or poor digestibility from other feedings. The lack of easily digestible phosphorus is especially noticeable at the initial stage of development, during the period of intensive growth of the root system. Lack of phosphorus negatively affects the moments of formation of reproductive organs.

The development of the whole plant is inhibited, the ripening of fruits is suspended, as a result, the yield decreases. In addition, a lack or poor assimilation of phosphorus slows down the positive effect on plants of other, primarily nitrogen fertilizers. Therefore, for most crops, the required dose of phosphorus is first added.

Attention! Ammophos is the best fertilizer for use in greenhouses and greenhouses.

Fertilizer composition

Ammophos - concentrated nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer, in which the proportion of phosphorus is 52%, nitrogen - about 12%. Phosphorus should be considered as the main element, and nitrogen as an accompanying component. Also, the composition of the drug includes potassium, calcium, magnesium and sulfur.

Ammophos is significantly more effective than single-component fertilizers and mixtures, with the same nitrogen and phosphorus content. According to experts, 1 kg of ammophos can replace 2.5 kg of conventional superphosphate and 0.35 kg of ammonium nitrate. In other words, the substance is almost three times more effective than a conventional, one-component top dressing.

fertilizers Ammophos

Ammophos is a complex fertilizer. It is obtained by neutralizing phosphoric acid with ammonia. The composition of ammophos is expressed by the chemical formula NH4H2PO4. Unlike superphosphate, it has a pronounced crystal structure. It is a nitrate and chlorine free product. Let's dissolve in water.

Release form

Produce herbicide in granular form under the brand "A" and in powder form under the brand "B". Both brands of ammophos contain 44–52% phosphorus and 10–12% nitrogen. Forms:

complex fertilizers

  1. Granular ammophos grade "A" is recommended to be applied locally before sowing, as a starting, row.
  2. Ammophos brand "B" is used as a basic tool and as a top dressing for crops of continuous sowing.These are perennial grasses on forage lands, natural green lawns for park and sports purposes.

In retail chains, ammophos is sold in soft containers or plastic bags. The product is shipped in bulk to large agricultural enterprises.

Physical and mechanical characteristics

The drug has good product characteristics in the following parameters:

product characteristics

  1. The drug has a degree of hygroscopicity, in which the substance does not absorb moisture from the air during storage and transportation. This means that the fertilizer does not damp, does not stick together, and does not lose flowability.
  2. The agent dissolves in the aquatic environment, which significantly increases the possibilities of its use and methods of application to the soil. Fertilizer solutions are suitable for irrigation and drip irrigation.
  3. Granules are uniform in size and strength, have the same shape. These qualities are especially important when applying fertilizer to the soil in a mechanized way, and allow you to distribute the fertilizing evenly over the area of the site.
  4. The preparation contains an optimal amount of moisture of about 1%, which ensures the strength of the granulometric composition, and ensures the flowability of the product at all stages from loading to application to the soil.

The high concentration of active ingredients and the almost complete absence of ballast makes the use of ammophos very economically beneficial. In the conditions of farms and agricultural enterprises, the costs of storage, transportation, and fertilization of the soil are significantly reduced.

Important! Phosphorus does not move well in the soil. To contribute phosphate fertilizers follows as close as possible to the root system of plants.

Recommendations for use

Instructions for the use of ammophos recommends using the agent for all climatic zones, as applied to both arid and fertile soils. Ammophos is equally effective in protected and open ground. Suitable for application under winter and spring-summer plantings, as the main fertilizer or additional top dressing. Diluted can be used in drip irrigation systems. Phosphorus-nitrogen fertilization is necessary for fruit and berry, vegetable crops, root crops, cereals, perennial grasses and flowers. As the main fertilizer, the following cost rates per 1 sq. m. area:

moves in soil

  • up to 30 g is added under vegetables when preparing the soil;
  • for root crops, this rate is 15–25 g;
  • for fruit and berry bushes, make at the rate of 15-30 g;
  • up to 15–20 g of ammophos are applied under lawn grasses and flowers.

As a vegetative top dressing, the norm ranges from 5-10 g for root crops, vegetables and fruit crops. When feeding flowers, berry bushes, perennial grasses, 4–5 g of the preparation are consumed. Some correction to the norms is introduced by the prolonged action of the fertilizers used earlier.

Features of the use of ammophos

As the main fertilizer, ammophos is applied in autumn or early spring for soil digging at the rate of 15–30 g per 1 m² of area. In a greenhouse or greenhouse, 40-50 g are consumed per 1 m² of area. When growing seedlings, 1–2 g of the preparation is applied per 1 running meter of planting, embedding it in the soil to a depth of 5–6 cm. Shed furrows with liquid fertilizer, diluting 20 g of ammophos in a bucket of water.

Top dressing in the autumn and early spring period is carried out depending on the type of crop. Furrows are prepared along the perimeter of the root circle. The depressions are moistened and brought to a depth of 5–6 cm, mixing with the ground. In order to quickly deliver nutrients to the roots of the plant, the granules are dissolved in standardized volumes of water and used for root dressing.

use of ammophos

It is convenient to use liquid top dressing for automatic irrigation or drip irrigation systems.Initially, 1 kg of fertilizer is dissolved in a bucket of water. Allow time for the drug to dissolve and filter the mixture. The resulting solution is a highly concentrated aqueous extract. It should be diluted 1:50. The result should be 500 liters or 50 buckets of finished fertilizer. In a diluted state, the solution is used for simple irrigation from a watering can or for automatic drip irrigation systems.
