Description of Camori goats and their maintenance, where to buy and amateur club

Caring for goats is much easier than caring for cows, products made from their milk are tasty, nutritious and hypoallergenic. This is especially important for adherents of a healthy diet. The opportunity to have their own livestock, providing the family with quality products, to give children to observe the life of animals attracts people. Camori goats are considered exotic, but they have adapted to local conditions and are increasingly appearing in Russian farmsteads.

Origin

Kamori is a goat breed that is ubiquitous in Asia. The birthplace of the breed is Pakistan, but they live in India, Cambodia, and other countries. The animal is bred for milk and meat production. In Russia, this breed is still a rarity; due to the high cost, only wealthy families can afford to have such an animal.

Purebred Kamori goats are not often found in Pakistan, the main sign of purebredness is the color of the animals. Shiny hide with bright contrasting patterns seems to be covered with Arabic script. If the drawing shows a resemblance to the suras from the Koran, this is considered a happy omen for the owner of the animal, a symbol of success and special divine disposition.

Camori goats are becoming more and more, in the Moscow region several farms are engaged in breeding this breed. A club of lovers of oriental goat breeds has appeared on social networks, you can find information about them, share the secrets of content. Exhibitions are held annually in Moscow where you can see and purchase a thoroughbred animal.

Positive and negative sides

Kamori is a rather rare breed in Russia.

Many people like animals, the positive qualities of the breed include:

  • exterior of animals;
  • they easily get along with other pets;
  • have a calm disposition;
  • 2-3 goats are brought per year, except for the first lambing, when 1 goat appears.

The disadvantages of the breed include:

  • the high cost of animals;
  • the need to equip a warmed goat's house for them;
  • exceptionally stable in the winter, they easily catch colds at Russian winter temperatures and freeze their ears.

Of course, these goats are purchased today for further breeding for sale or as an exotic pet on the farm, with a bonus in the form of milk.

Subtleties of maintenance and care

Camori are unpretentious, tolerate heat well. In the southern regions, they can be grazed from April to October. In winter, goats should be kept in a bright, warm, draft-free room with good ventilation. It is necessary to maintain the temperature in it at 10-15 ° C.

The floor of the goat's house is made even, the animals are placed on a thick bed of straw, it must be dry. Humidity in the goat's rue is the cause of animal disease. They lose appetite, become lethargic, milk yield decreases. 1 animal should have 2 square meters of area.

Succulent goats are kept separately from the main livestock. Separate enclosures are mounted for the goat and the queens with the kids.

What to feed

When choosing a pasture, you need to make sure that there are no poisonous herbs (henbane, raven's eye, celandine) on it. Animals must have access to clean water. They need vitamin supplements, especially in winter (fish oil, bone meal, calcium supplements, special complexes). In the summer, the animals are given cucumbers, zucchini, melon.

In winter, they feed with hay, root crops, add bran, compound feed, and silage. Brooms are prepared from birch, willow, twigs, twigs of fruit trees (apple, pear) are given. Corn and other cereals are steamed. Containers with salt and chalk are placed in the goat's house.

Drinking water is heated. Kamori are not demanding on water, but with a small amount of liquid, milk yield decreases. Do not give animals dirty, rotten vegetables. Drinkers and feeders are placed in free access for animals, at a height of 50 centimeters.

Features of breeding Pakistani goats

There are few purebred Camori goats in Russia. A cross between a Camori and a Nubian breed is often sold. Animals grow rapidly, reaching sexual maturity at 7-8 months, but covering them at 1-1.5 years. Usually a goat brings 2 kids a year. Those wishing to start breeding goats are better off buying them in Asian countries.

Important: it should be borne in mind that they are not too responsible for the certification of animals.

The cost of importing a camori with all the required documents will be high.

Frequent illnesses

Camori goats are disease resistant. They suffer from the same ailments as the goats we are used to. They are more susceptible to pneumonia, since these are southern animals, the goat's house should be warm. Care must be taken to ensure that they are not poisoned in the pasture while grazing. Animals must worm every 4 months, trim and handle the hooves. Since the camori are indoors most of the time, the hooves are clipped more often, because they are not grinded in natural conditions.

You can buy an animal at agricultural exhibitions.Camori goats were presented at the exhibition "Golden Autumn 2019", they could be bought without fear for the breed of the animal. Goats are bred in the Zvezda Vostoka farm near Moscow and several other farms in the Moscow region. Most camori farmers have their own social media pages.

Camori goats give a lot of milk and are easy to milk. This is noted by all animal owners. That is why the number of camori in Russia will grow, and the price for them will decrease, but for now, farmers who have goats on the farm will not only go to drink milk, but also look at the amazing, cute animals with big ears.
