Description

Characteristics of tomato Lezhebok: mid-season variety, medium-leafy bush, height from 1 - 1.2 m, is carried out in two stems. Bushes with an intermediate inflorescence. The yield of the variety is quite high: 4 - 5 kg of a net crop comes out from one root.

The fruit is round, slightly flattened. One tomato has an average weight of 120 - 140 grams. Due to the absence of excess juice, the fruits are dense, fleshy, and remain fresh until winter. As is typical of hybrids, they have an excellent sweet and sour taste. The skin is smooth, bright red.

Tomatoes easily tolerate transportation without losing their taste and presentation. Store in a cool, dry place until New Years.

Use

First harvest tomatoes are great for fresh consumption and for making salads. Subsequent harvests canned, pickled, salted, make various preparations for the winter. Referring to the absence of excess moisture and dense skin, the fruits of this tomato variety do not burst during heat treatment.

Seed preparation

Sowing tomatoes for seedlings begins in late March - early April. To achieve a rich harvest, you need not only high-quality seeds, but also certain skills and knowledge. Before sowing, the seeds must be disinfected.

It is almost impossible to distinguish visually diseased tomato seeds from healthy ones. It will be safer to disinfect the seed first. There are several ways to destroy pests inside and on the surface of seeds:

  1. Dry method. Carry out the seed material of tomatoes for several days in the sun - when warmed up in the sun, the seeds are disinfected and germinate faster.
  2. Wet way. For half a liter of warm water, 1 teaspoon of potassium permanganate. Place tomato seeds in a solution and stand for half an hour at room temperature. Then rinse thoroughly and dry.

Planting and leaving

You can choose any container for sowing seedlings. Particular preference is given to plastic containers with single cups: in the future, you will not have to dive young tomatoes and disturb the root system.

planting tomatoes

After sowing tomato seeds, it is necessary to water and feed the seedlings in a timely manner. When the first full-fledged leaves of a tomato appear, the container with tomatoes must be evenly turned towards the sun every 2 days, otherwise the bushes will grow one-sided.

Soil preparation

If the land plot is located near a railway or highway, it is better to take the land away from the gas-polluted zone. The soil should not contain substances harmful to vegetable crops. Tomatoes cannot withstand acidity.

Landing in open ground

Planting tomatoes of the Lezhebok variety in open ground is possible only if you are sure that the frost has passed. Tomatoes are thermophilic plants that do not tolerate cold. To achieve an excellent harvest, it is necessary to feed and water the tomato bed in a timely manner. The site must be cleared of weeds in time.

This year my wife bought seeds of tomatoes "Lezhebok". I grew seedlings myself and planted three bushes in a greenhouse in the Moscow region. We grew all the tomatoes on other bushes red, and on these yellow ones. My wife kept thinking that they would blush like the others, but no. The tomatoes were excellent quality. My wife collected them and went home in mid-October. Already the beginning of December, and they are still yellow, lie, do not rot, and we do not eat them - we do not know why they do not rot, maybe they are “genetically modified”.
