Characteristics and description of the Krasnobay tomato variety, its yield

There are an uncountable number of varieties on the seed market, but Krasnoby's tomato is not lost among such a variety. This is a gardener's dream come true - large, abundant, hardy. It successfully competes with the best foreign and domestic brethren.

Greenhouse hybrid from the agricultural firm "Gavrish"

The team of Russian breeders under the leadership of Professor S. F. Gavrish has been carrying out purposeful work for many years to develop vegetables with desired properties. Good greenhouses became more affordable and gardeners needed top quality tomatoes. Previous disease-resistant hybrids were small, and non-hybrid large-fruited varieties in greenhouses were very sick.

The best features are combined in a hybrid tomato of the Krasnobay F1 variety from the Gavrish seed company. In 2006, the variety was included in the State Seed Register and recommended for indoor large farms and amateur gardeners.

Hybrids have one significant drawback: seed material has to be purchased again every year. Fortunately, the seeds from "Gavrish" are cheaper than many foreign analogues. Germination, as a rule, is very good - at least 80 - 90%. Pretreatment with stimulants is not required.

Vegetable "steaks"

Speaking about the variety, it is worth mentioning its main distinctive characteristics.

Size and shape

Giving a characteristic and description of the Krasnobay tomato variety, first of all, large-fruitedness, rare for a hybrid, is noted. The parameter is unique even in comparison with other "beef-tomatoes": the size of each fruit in the first and second bunch often reaches half a kilogram. The average weight for all fees is 300 - 350 grams.

Tomatoes are uniform in weight and shape, do not shrink, rounded flat, slightly ribbed. On unripe fruits, a dark green spot is visible at the stalk, which completely disappears when ripening.

Consistency

It is not in vain that such vegetables were dubbed "steaks" - the tomatoes are blood-red, fleshy, strong, not watery. A picky gourmet, perhaps, reproaches them for being harsh. Of course, in taste, hybrids are slightly inferior to non-hybrid varieties with "watermelon" pulp.

But Krasnobai-type tomatoes, with a dense skin, are much more transportable, do not crumple during collection and transportation. Another important advantage is excellent keeping quality. Even ripe fruits can be stored until the New Year (and longer) - not only in a cool room, but also in a city apartment.

Appointment

Very tasty and beautiful salads are cut from beef tomatoes: the meaty slices do not soak, they keep their shape perfectly.Blanks are ideal - pieces canned in gelatin. Excellent, thick juice and tomato paste.

Whole fruit canning is also possible - in barrels. Especially successful is the traditional barrel fermentation without the addition of vinegar. It makes sense to prepare such an original preparation as sun-dried tomatoes.

Immunity

Greenhouse conditions, in addition to their undeniable advantages, create a serious problem: tomatoes in greenhouses often suffer from diseases. The advantage of the Krasnobay F1 hybrid is its high resistance to harmful infections:

krasnobai variety

  1. It successfully resists stem mildew and destructive spots such as cladosporia, which leads to a half of the harvest.
  2. Does not pose a danger to Krasnobay and Fusarium wilting.
  3. The hybrid is practically not affected by the tobacco mosaic virus.
  4. There is no root infection with nematode worms.
  5. The famous TV presenter, agronomist and author of books Oktyabrina Ganichkina, who has grown many different varieties on her site, notes that Krasnobay is resistant even to late blight attack.

When removed unripe, tomatoes ripen well, do not turn black and do not rot.

It is very important that it is possible to minimize or completely eliminate chemical treatments of the soil, bushes and fruits, to obtain environmentally friendly products.

Temperature regime

The number and quality of fruits are not affected by temperature drops. The yield does not fall even in cool and cloudy summers, when tomato bushes are not too comfortable in greenhouses.

Krasnobai especially pleases in the fall in an unheated greenhouse, demonstrating the longest return.

Agrotechnics

Rave reviews about the yield of Krasnobay tomato come from those growers who follow the basic rules of growing.

Timing

The variety is usually called mid-late, although the tomato is quite suitable for the mid-season category. It begins to ripen 120 days after germination, a couple of months after planting with 60-day seedlings. It is quite natural that large-fruited tomato cannot be early maturing. Fruiting is long, extended.

It is necessary to sow seeds for seedlings quite early - in February. Optimal temperature conditions and timely picking are of particular importance. Seedlings are prone to elongation, so additional lighting may be needed, the use of Athlete.

After planting in a greenhouse, young plants grow quickly and need a timely garter.

Normalization

Krasnobay is an indeterminate hybrid, with a genetic propensity for continuous growth. It fully realizes its potential only in greenhouses with sufficient ceiling height. The first flowers are laid in the axil of the 11th leaf. During the season, the plant is able to successfully form about 8 brushes, after which the apical growth point is removed.

garter tomato

The inflorescence usually contains 5 ovaries (if there are more flowers, it is recommended to pluck out the extra ones). The brushes are heavy when filling, they must not be broken, each must be tied up. It is very important to remove all lateral branches (stepchildren) in a timely manner, leading the plant exclusively into one stem - only in this way is the maximum yield achieved.

The one who planted Krasnobay collected both a bucket and one and a half from one plant. It is possible to get 30-40 kg of standard fruits from a square meter. Such a yield is given by 3 - 4 bushes, thickening is unacceptable.

Nutrition

For large-fruited varieties, nutrition is of decisive importance. The soil should not be acidic, otherwise nutrients are poorly absorbed, and top rot of the fruit appears. Planting holes are filled with a mixture of organic and mineral fertilizers. Several liquid root and foliar dressings are carried out during the season. They are made complex, with trace elements.

Alternating drought and heavy watering can cause the fruit to crack. It is very important to maintain a constant moderate soil moisture. A technique such as mulching works well.
